Software development engineers (in Mont-Saint-Guibert, Belgium)
Functions:
The software development engineers to be recruited will work in the Product Development Group (PDG) in charge of ACTRAN software development. Tasks assigned to PDG members are related to feasibility studies about new modeling strategies for vibro- and aero-acoustics, participation to externally funded research projects, development, implementation and validation of computational algorithms, development of GUI (Graphical User Interface) and interfaces with third party softwares, high performance computing (HPC) and software optimization, improvements of direct and iterative solvers, bug fixes. Quality Assurance (QA), industrial validation and software documentation benefit from daily interactions with the Product Support Group (PSG)
Responsabilities:
(1) Software development engineer (numerical methods): participation to software developments projects involving (continuous/discontinuous) finite element methods applied to vibro- and aero-acoustic problems (time domain and frequency domain solutions).
(2) Software development engineer (interface graphics, software design architecture): participation to graphical user interface (GUI) development and involvement in sofware design architecture aspects, management of external libraries.
Profiles:
(1) Software development engineer (numerical methods): The candidate should have a background in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering or applied mathematics and some experience in modeling and simulation of wave problems (dynamics, acoustics or electromagnetics). Programming skills (C++, python) are requested. Specific competences includes solution oriented attitude, quality awareness, team spirit and flexibility. The candidate should be fluent in english and/or french.
(2) Software development engineer (interface graphics, software design architecture): The candidate should have excellent programming skills (C++, python) and some experience in the design of complex object-oriented softwares (C++: generic programming, Standard Template Library, boost libraries; python: C-bindings, python extension libraries, numpy, scipy). Specific competences includes solution oriented attitude, quality awareness, team spirit and flexibility. The candidate should be fluent in english and/or french.
Application Engineers (in Mont-Saint-Guibert, Belgium)
Function:
As a member of the FFT staff of world-class experts in acoustic simulation, you will be integrated in the Project and Support Group. Under the responsibility of the Engineering and Support Manager, you will be involved in the following activities:
providing technical support of the ACTRAN acoustic simulation software to worldwide customers;
providing technical trainings;
working on challenging acoustic, vibro-acoustic and aero-acoustic consulting projects using ACTRAN and other leading CAE software;
working on the improvement of ACTRAN through intensive collaboration with the Product and Development Team;
supporting our sales team and our distributors in promoting our products.
Profile:
an engineering masters degree is a prerequisite, preferably in Solid Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics or Civil Engineering;
a prior experience with commercial CAE software (structural FEA, acoustics FEA or CFD package) is an asset;
the ability to manage multiple projects;
effective communication skills (spoken and written English) with colleagues and customers;
the ability to work well with others in a diverse team environment;
problem-solving skills, ability to create engineering solutions to customer problems;
skills in writing and presenting/demonstrations;
a taste for programming (Matlab, Python, DOS or bash) and travels is desirable.
